Captain Tom decided he would try to raise £1000 walking length of his garden to raise some money for NHS charities as he had been very well looked after whilst spending previous 2 yrs in and out of hospital. He did not raise it too fund the NHS. Good grief. you do know that the NHS has funding of in excess of £2 billion a week..that’s nearly £12 million per hour of every day of the week...that’s not underfunding by any sense of the imagination. The trouble with the NHS is it’s become a catch all service that simply will never cope with demand...case in point - cosmetic surgery because people feel inadequate (that’s a societal issue NOT a health issue). It’s needs a root and branch review and whimsical services simply need to be got rid of. The NHS should have clear boundaries and then the funding would be sufficient. Shawlands Lee labour underfunded armed forces with no equipment and peasant wages getting them killed while sending them in two illegal wars and fire fighters where on strike because of pay and safety
