  I teach in Italy, a school.with 500 kids, early childhood to middle school. We all wear masks, indoors and out. Sanitize our hands often as well as desks etc. Windows are open so we wear warm clothes! So far we have had a couple of cases and a couple of classes quarantined for 10 days. The school has remained open since September. We haven't had to cope with any variants until now so that may make the difference. However, with masks, sanitizing and quick testing and tracing, I think.its possible to reopen schools especially now that the vaccines are being rolled out and very speedily in the UK! Being in class with the kids even with masks and when it's chilly is infinitely preferable to online learning, in my mind anyway!

 My daughter has had three or four colds in the last month but they’ve only had one Covid case in the nursery throughout the whole pandemic.  It would be interesting to see how history views this period in life for my great-grandchildren.I don’t mind the vaccine but must have a vaccine passport is a step much too far. It is a form of segregation and discrimination especially if they become a ‘ must have ‘ to qualify for jobs, holidays etc. It could become the equivalent of the ‘mark of the beast’. I think vaccine passports to get into other countries will be inevitable unfortunately our gov have no control over what other countries require. I however feel a passport for internal use is unfair and could be discriminatory. Once offered the jab if you decide you don’t want it then imho it’s your risk to take especially if everyone else is protected. I'm definitely going to get the vaccine, but because I'm young and healthy it won't be offered to me for a while. It's a little unfair because of that, although I do understand the point of it. I'm assuming they'll introduce this passport once they've rolled out the vaccine for all adults.

  Surely much more likely to get continued and repeated exposure for indoor items of clothing that are exposed when not wearing a coat, so wearing a coat or outer layer to mix seems safer to protect internal clothes from being contaminated, even if coat isn't washed everytime surely? Because unless we are aiming a fan or hairdryer at it we aren't touching or interacting with the coat or outer layer inside our home. When I was nursing years ago all our uniforms were washed on site. You weren’t allowed to take them home at all. I later worked in a hospice and we took uniforms home to wash in water soluble bags that could go in the washing machine. Anybody would think it was something new cross infection on clothing!  Wake up guys. So fed up with headlines intimating that schools have been closed throughout this pandemic. Other than the initial lockdown (when school staff were forced to work from home), I personally have been in school every single day of term time since this all began. The media has a lot to answer for. The data politicians and the news keep stating, that teachers are less at risk is biased. The data is based only on male teachers, when most teachers are female and over a 42 week period when only 17 of them were when schools were open fully. My favourite news report this morning was, that the former lead of Ofsted said on question time last night, that teachers and school staff will need to step up and begin to go above and beyond when schools reopen, like the NHS has throughout the pandemic.
