“Wherever there were violins, there was hope,” Weinstein said. He has dubbed his work, which has been the subject of a book, a film documentary, an exhibition at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Cleveland and a concert by the Cleveland Orchestra, “The Violins of Hope.” Weinstein’s talk and Tarley’s performance will take place in the Library’s Mumford Room, on the sixth floor of its James Madison Building at 101 Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C. The program is free and open to the public; tickets are not needed, but seating is limited.
