In this first installment of the Harry Potter film series, the 11-year old-orphan Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is rescued from a miserable existence with his abusive uncle and aunt by a mysterious stranger, Rubeus Hagrid, who whisks him off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It seems that Harry is actually a wizard, famous in the Wizarding World for surviving an attack by the evil Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry’s parents when Harry was only a baby.
